It asks you before it sends, pays, signs or deletes anything, Anthropic wrote. A waitlist is a list you join now to get in later.
Who can join: Claude Pro and Max users in the US
Duet is open first to US users of Claude Pro or Claude Max, Anthropic said. Pro costs 20 dollars a month and Max from 100 dollars, its price page shows.
Duet costs nothing extra in this early test, Anthropic's help page says. It works on phones and on claude.ai.
What Claude Duet does each day
Each morning, Duet sends a short note on the top items in your email, calendar and work apps, Anthropic wrote. It checks them every few hours and writes to you only when something needs you.
It works on its own computer at Anthropic, so your phone can be off. Its brain is Anthropic's AI model Claude Opus 5.5, the help page says.
Below we break down what Duet asks you about first
It reads mail and writes drafts alone, Anthropic wrote. Before it sends, pays, signs or deletes, it shows you the step and waits for your yes.

Buying shares or moving money between bank accounts stays blocked, even with your yes. Each buy uses a card made for that one buy, the help page says.
No extra price, but Duet uses your plan's limits
Duet shares your plan's usage limit, the cap on how much Claude work you get each week, the help page says. Its morning notes and checks count too.
What is confirmed and what is not
Anthropic wrote that Duet can still misread a thread or judge wrongly what is urgent. Plans for whole companies come later, with no date, the help page says.
Anthropic gave no price for after the test. Dan Shipper of the newsletter Every tested Duet early and wrote that "its email drafts are worse than Dot's", OpenAI's helper.
