DeepSeek opens 1 free rival to Claude Code
DeepSeek put the code for Super-Agent, a test coding agent that works inside team chats, on GitHub for free. Bloomberg reported that it is aimed at Anthropic's Claude Code.

DeepSeek's Super-Agent on GitHubDeepSeek has put the code for Super-Agent, a test coding agent, on GitHub for anyone to use free. Bloomberg reported that it is aimed at Anthropic's Claude Code, The Next Web said on the 1st of November 2026.
Daily Agentic checked the page on the 2nd of November 2026. The code was first posted on the 31st of October under a free MIT licence.
What Super-Agent does
Super-Agent works on one code project on GitHub, the site where programmers share code, the project page says. It can also listen to Feishu, a work chat app made by ByteDance.
When an allowed person asks for work, it opens a task and handles it alone. It then answers in the same chat, for example with a ready code change.
Built to save attention
The page says the agent should take as little human attention as possible. It acts only when asked or when a rule written by the team allows it.
A web panel shows what needs a person to look at it.
A test, says DeepSeek
DeepSeek calls the code a research prototype for reference only. It says the code is not an official product and may still have bugs.
The public code differs from the version DeepSeek uses inside the company, the page says. Some ideas from its design article are not built yet.
Below we break down the numbers
The project had 11,471 stars, a sign of interest on GitHub, and 1,182 copies on Monday afternoon. That is about ten stars for every copy, by our arithmetic.
The page went up about 52 hours earlier. That works out to roughly 220 new stars an hour.

What is confirmed and what is not
The code, licence and warnings are on DeepSeek's own GitHub page. The claim that it targets Claude Code comes from Bloomberg, and DeepSeek has not said so itself.
