Mistral Voxtral 3 voice agent: $2.40 an hour
Mistral AI released Voxtral 3 on the 20th of October 2026, models for AI phone agents that listen, think and speak at once. A voice agent costs 4 cents a minute, or 2.40 dollars for one hour of talk.

Mistral AI's Voxtral 3 voice agentMistral AI released Voxtral 3 on the 20th of October 2026, the French company said on its website. It is a set of AI models for voice agents, programs that answer calls and talk back.
A voice agent built on it costs 4 US cents a minute, Mistral's price list in the post shows. One hour of talk comes to 2.40 dollars, by our arithmetic.
What Voxtral 3 does: it listens, thinks, talks and acts
The agent works in three steps at the same time, Mistral wrote. One model writes down what the caller says, a second one thinks, and a third one speaks.
"No stage waits for the one before it," the post says. Each turn ends in under one second, Mistral said.
It knows who is speaking and stops when you cut in
The models can mark who said what, Mistral wrote. This is called diarization: splitting a recording by speaker.
The agent stops talking when the caller cuts in, the post says. It can also use tools, like booking a visit in Mistral's demo.
Below we break down the cost of one hour of talk

The full agent with Mistral's model Small 4 costs 0.04 dollars a minute. With a larger model it costs 0.08 dollars, so one hour is 4.80 dollars, by our arithmetic.
Turning live speech into text alone costs 0.008 dollars a minute, or 48 cents an hour, by our arithmetic. The post does not say which parts the 4 cent price covers.
Languages: more than 50 for listening, more than 35 for speaking
The listening models cover more than 50 languages, Mistral wrote. The speaking model covers more than 35 languages and 50 dialects, the local ways a language is spoken.
What is confirmed and what is not
Mistral's post does not say if the models are free to download. On the 24th of October 2026, Mistral's page on Hugging Face, a site for sharing AI models, listed no Voxtral 3 model.
Companies can also run it on their own computers, the post says.
