Yelp blocks AI agents, then calls for you
Yelp, Amazon, Delta, JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab keep outside AI agents away, they said in September and October 2026. Yelp is building its own calling agent, and Shopify opened its stores to agents.

AI agents are programs that browse, book and buy for a person. Amazon, two big banks and Delta Air Lines also keep them away, the companies said, while Shopify opened its stores.
Yelp: outside agents only if they pay for its data
Yelp allows no non-human visitors unless the agent pays for its data, it told TechCrunch on the 6th of October 2026.
Its robots.txt bans automated visits without Yelp's permission. That file tells programs where they may go.
Yelp's own agent, Check for Me, calls a restaurant and texts you the wait time, Yelp's blog said on the 20th of October. It comes to US iPhones in the coming months.

Amazon has blocked Meta's shopping agent Muse since the 20th of September, an Amazon spokesperson told Bloomberg. Such apps "should operate openly", the spokesperson said.
JPMorgan Chase will let no outside agent into customer accounts, its boss Jamie Dimon said on the 13th of October, American Banker reported. Charles Schwab's boss Rick Wurster said on the 15th of October: "We are not going to allow that."
Delta: no deals for agents to book flights
Delta has no partners that let outside AI agents book its flights, it told TechCrunch on the 6th of October. TechCrunch wrote that Delta did not say it blocks them, and The Verge reported that it does.
Shopify: agents can buy in all its stores
Muse can buy in all Shopify stores with Shopify's Shop Pay checkout, Shopify's boss Tobias Lütke wrote on X on the 21st of September. PYMNTS reported his post.
What is confirmed and what is not
The Verge also named Cars.com and Amtrak, but only from users whose agents stopped working there. Neither company has confirmed a block, so they are left out here.
