• Anthropic: small AI may self-copy in 2026

  Anthropic's Frontier Red Team said on the 12th of October 2026 that small AI models may be months away from copying themselves onto cheap home devices. One open model, GLM-5.2, already spread through a test network in 4 of 5 runs.
